Ted Rubin, author of How to Look People in the Eye Digitally, believes in looking people in the eye, even in today’s digital world, as clients and customers want a connection that adds value to their business. Looking someone in the eye conveys that you’re paying attention and that you’re “in the moment.” Rubin states that in today’s heavily connected world, the line between business and personal has disappeared — and that regardless of one’s level of connectivity, at this stage, people might not want to, but they have to engage via social media.
