Rosh Hashanah (Hebrew: רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה), literally meaning the “beginning (also head) of the year” is The Jewish New Year. It marks the beginning of the year, according to the teachings of Judaism, clearly a time for reflection and hope. And now “hope” for a better world, and something better right here at home as well, is more important than it has been for quite some time.
I TRULY LOVE this post via John Pavlovitz and hope you all will take it to heart… “I’M NOT THE RADICAL LEFT, I’M THE HUMANE MIDDLE. The New “Extremism” of Being a Decent Human Being”
On a more personal note for us all, there is something I want to share with you, especially now due to all the challenges we face, and this being a time for reflection…
What we do, how we feel, what we hold in our hearts is ALWAYS ours to own and cherish… no one can take that away. I’ve spoken about this with regard to the challenges I’ve had and continue to experience with my daughters since my divorce 20 years ago. It’s something I’ve embraced with regard to them and have come to realize it is relevant to everything else in my life, and most probably in yours as well. I have read a few books, and thought a lot about HAPPINESS, and my biggest takeaway is that we all have happiness within us, and I believe the good things we hold in our hearts about everything is an important key… those feelings and moments with friends and family, during work, and play, are ours to hold onto and cherish forever. Following a similar theme of being happy and satisfied… I’m not looking for more opportunities to step outside my “comfort zone,” I’m seeking to find my comfort zone and stay there as much as possible.
I do my very best every day to be positive, especially when I’m interacting with others. If you’ve followed me over the years, then you know that #BeGoodToPeople is a huge part of my philosophy in business and in life. But it’s not automatic. Sometimes, people, circumstances, or plain old bad luck make it very difficult to keep a positive attitude. I find that remembering what I’m thankful for allows me to keep perspective in the moments when I need it most, whether in business or when dealing with life’s daily challenges. AND there is no question that I’m most thankful for the health of my family and friends.
So going forward, always remember…
NO ONE can take away the Memories, Good Feelings, and Love that you carry inside. Those are yours for as long as you choose to cherish it… #NoLetUp!👊🏻
There’s a Dale Carnegie quote that encapsulates this so well… “It isn’t what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.”
So with that in mind… All my very best to you, your families, and those you love.
Time for new beginnings…
Dawning of new hopes…
Opening of new horizons…
Wishing you Peace, Prosperity, Health and Happiness in the year ahead… L’Shanah Tova 🙏🏻
