This is a great article, While Everyone Is Distracted By Social Media, Successful People Double Down On An Underrated Skill, a valuable read, and exactly what John Andrews has always encouraged me to do.
I curate my most important learning content including journalism, blogs, podcasts, and seeking out and reading/listening to books, every day. A great addition to my daily educating/learning has been Audible, which has allowed me to exponentially add to the amount of valuable books I can expose myself to. I listen to books every day via Audible while working out, walking, biking, and kayaking (it has greatly enhanced my ability to learn more every day). Thanks to both John and Steve Spiro for encouraging me to listen to audio books via Audible.
P.S. Remember to be vigilant when curating your content. It’s not just about taking control, it’s what you expose yourself to as well.
“The information we consume matters just as much as the food we put in our body. It affects our thinking, our behavior, how we understand our place in the world. And how we understand others.” — Evan Williams, Co-Founder of Twitter and Medium
And to close, this is one of my favorite quotes about happiness and relates in so many ways to the content we consume…
“It isn’t what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.” ~Dale Carnegie
