HOW ONE TWEET CAN CREATE AWESOME OPPORTUNITIES!

Samantha Kelly: Twitter has changed my whole life! I have created a business from it’s existence, I’ve met some amazing people on my journey and connected with folk who I would never ever meet normally.  The value I get from these connections is huge. I taught myself Twitter after my sister Roz created an account for me. I barely had a Facebook page at the time, so was a bit daunting for this Technophobe. But what I didn’t realize is that Twitter is ALL about people.

People remember how you make them feel so if you are any way good with people, Twitter will work for you. People buy from People, so if your business needs customers, build relationships and nurture those relationships!

About 3 years ago I saw a Tweet from Ted Rubin and it caught my eye! He was talking about Return on Relationship #RonR and I thought it was so true! Twitter and indeed all business is about building relationships with people and when you do, you always get a return without even trying to sell.

return on relationship

Return on Relationship™ (hashtag #RonR)… simply put the value that is accrued by a person or brand due to nurturing a relationship. ROI is simple $’s and cents. ROR is the value (both perceived and real) that will accrue over time through loyalty, recommendations and sharing. ROR (hashtag #RonR) enhances ROI.

See? Simple! Made sense to me! So I tweeted to Ted and couldn’t believe it when he tweeted me back and Retweeted me also to over 400k followers!   But that wasn’t all, we continued to chat at other times, and from time to time I would comment or Retweet him and share his posts and blogs.  He notices when you do this and always takes the time to thank you too even though he has so many followers.  I have watched videos about him and learned so much from him. He lives in the USA and I live in Ireland. Yet, the relationship developed into being friends on Facebook too!

So when I discovered Blab I was amazed to see that Ted hadn’t done a Blab yet. So I asked him would he like to do one with me. And guess what? He said yes!! So today, for the first time in 3 years, we spoke on camera to each other, cementing our relationship even more.

ted me blab

What does this mean?

Most important of all is the fact that Ted shared his knowledge with the viewers of the Blab so we all learned amazing tips and take aways. We involved others who might not normally get a chance to talk to Ted so that was lovely.

Ted knows me better now so when we finally do meet, I reckon it will be hugs and not handshakes!

It it proof that what I am doing and teaching actually works! I always talk about how assisting others and sharing knowledge increases your twitter following and enhances relationships!

It raises my profile in the USA and introduces Ted to my community and increases the awareness for him in Ireland of ‘Brand Ted Rubin’.

Naturally people will look at his website, perhaps download his tips, and buy his book too! So we both assist one another by collaborating on something simple like a Blab together.

So I want to Thank you Ted for the opportunity and for taking the time out to Blab together! Thank you to all who tuned in and commented on it while we are on air and thank you to all of my followers for being there for me and supporting me. Love you all!

Here is the replay of some of the Blab.  See the Gratitude Coach @gratefultoni joined us too! Ted and Brian Fanzo will be doing Blabs in the future so make sure you get on it and start building some relationships.
