This post was a must share for me, via Be Good To People, a community I have supported and valued for many years, and “about” a member of the community who could not be more deserving of everyone’s love and support… Tim McDonald 🙏🏻

One of Our Own Needs Your Help

Tim has been a longtime supporter and advocate for BGTP and many other charitable causes, and now it’s our turn to be an advocate for him. As a  member of our community, I know how much kindness and compassion matter to you. So in the spirit of that compassion, I wanted to share Tim’s story with you.

In 2020 Tim was diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer. He was given just 3 years to live. He then found out, that he desperately needs a liver transplant.

What has always made Tim remarkable as an individual is his gift to look at every challenge as an opportunity. Even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, Tim quickly regained his relentlessly optimistic outlook and began not only his fight but helping others with theirs.

Always an incredible connector and networker, Tim has spent the last two years, tirelessly advocating for people to be screened early and often for colorectal cancer, the nation’s second leading cause of cancer death. What Tim has taught us is that if it is caught early, it is also one of the easiest forms of cancer to overcome, which is great to know.

The other amazing fact we learned from Tim is that the liver can regenerate!  Meaning that a living donor can give part of their liver to Tim or someone else to save their life…and their liver grows back to it’s original, full size!

We’re asking you, our community, to participate in our campaign of awareness and healing for Tim in one or more of the four following ways:

  1. Make an appointment to get screened. Not tomorrow, not next week. Today. It’s the best way to ensure that you have the greatest odds of beating CRC should you be one of the over 106,000 people who are diagnosed every year in the US.
  2. Make a donation to FightCRC Tim’s scientific partner of choice.
  3. Learn about living organ donation and register to see if you’re a donor match for living organ donation for the over 100,000 people waiting for a match at ShareMyLiver.com. (BTW, Tim)
  4. SHARE this email and information with your family, friends and sphere of influence. There is such power and strength in getting this out there to as many people as possible.

During this season of giving it’s our hope, we can give Tim and the thousands of people like him the support they need to continue their fight, and ultimately help find a cure for this terrible disease. Please consider participating in our Kindness campaign for Tim. It’s a just one more opportunity for us to Be Good to People®.
